Durham County FC: DURHAM County FC Under-11s Cougars won their first ever trophy when they clinched the MEM Engineering Cup recently.

County Cougars won 12 out of their 14 matches and lost only once in a fine end of the season run that left them six points clear at the top of the league table, scoring 25 goals and only conceding seven.

County play in the Russell Foster Small Sided league every Saturday and this group of players formed the new team at the beginning of this season and as well as the cup win the Cougars also reached the League Cup quarter finals in their exciting first season together.

Cougars Manager Graeme Parkin said: "This is a great achievement for the boys not least because four of the team were playing their first ever season of competitive football and I am so pleased with the attitude and endeavours as well as the cup achievement."

Durham County FC Chairman Derrick Gurney said: "This is yet another great achievement for the football club in our most successful season ever, we will be celebrating this and all of our team's performances and achievements at our annual presentation next Sunday, and in view of the recent successes it should be quite an occasion for everybody associated with our club."

The Cougars team includes goalkeeper Aidan Jackson, defenders Ciaran Parkin, Daniel Loftus, Jack Richardson, Josh Appleby, midfielders Luke Jury, Luke Richardson, Liam Williams, Robert Ward (captain), and strikers Richard Brewster and Dylan Dowd.
