ONE of the most sought after prizes in football has come to the North-East.
Unfortunately, the Barclays Premiership Trophy only stayed in the region for a day as it visited Darlington.
Football fans were given the opportunity to have their photograph taken with the cup when it went on display at the Barclays branch, in High Row.
In return, fans were asked to make a donation to St Teresa's Hospice.
The event raised about £300 for the hospice and assistant branch manager Nick Lyonette said it proved very popular with customers.
He said: "It's the third time we have had it in five years.
"The security guards said it was off to Africa after it left Darlington, so it was nice to see it.
"I had my picture taken with my son in our Middlesbrough shirts and we got a bit of stick."
