A POPULAR choir has helped its local hospital with a concert featuring music from around the world.
Thanks to the musical talents of the Alverton Singers, more than £300 was raised for the Friends of the Friarage Hospital, in Northallerton.
The singers are based in Northallerton and perform a variety of music at regular concerts in North Yorkshire.
Friends secretary Val Oliver, who is also a member of the singers, along with several other hospital staff, said: "We much appreciate this helping hand and would like to say a big thank-you to the Alverton Singers for supporting us.
"We will make sure the money is put to good use at the Friarage towards much-needed medical equipment and patient comforts."
* The choir is rehearsing for its summer concert on July 1 and new members are welcome. The ability to read music is not essential.
