THE chairman of computer software group Sage, based in the North-East, is to step down.
Michael Jackson, chairman since 2000, will be replaced by Sir Julian Horn-Smith, the outgoing deputy chief executive of Vodafone Group.
Sir Julian will become non-executive director from March 3 and chairman of the board from August 1.
Michael Lindsay Bury, senior non-executive director of Sage, said: "He brings a wealth of experience in building and managing businesses in competitive and complex markets. Sir Julian, 57, has been a senior executive of Vodafone, one of Europe's largest public companies, since 1984.
