A TEENAGER is preparing for an expedition to the remote mountains of the Himalayas.
Kelly-Ann Pedley, 16, from Richmond, was one of 18 members of the Combined Cadet Force to be selected for the month-long trip.
The group leaves for India at the end of July. Kelly-Ann, a St Francis Xavier School student, took part in selection weekends at Strensall, near York, and in the Lake District.
She has been a member of the Army Cadet Force for two-and-a-half years and is part of the Catterick detachment, at Gaza Barracks, Catterick Garrison.
She has already started raising the £800 she needs to pay for travel costs and her kit.
