POLICE are appealing for information after a valuable ornamental chimney pot was stolen from a woman's home.
The chimney pot, which was being used as a plant pot in the woman's front garden in Woodhouse Lane, Bishop Auckland, was taken in daylight on Saturday.
At 11.23am, police received a report from a neighbour of a white male, 5ft 3ins, well built and aged about 40 seen hurrying along Woodhouse Lane and carrying the chimney pot.
He was heading in the direction of Bishop Auckland Technical College and wearing a red hat and a red jacket.
