A BREEDER of rare poultry, a museum boss, and a police chief have all been included in the honours.
William Burdett, 81, from Hutton Sessay, near Thirsk, North Yorkshire, was given an MBE for services to the poultry industry.
Mr Burdett was keeper of poultry to the late Queen Mother for 25 years and won several awards on her behalf at agricultural shows across the country.
Andrew Scott, the head of the National Railway Museum at York, was given a CBE for services to museums.
Mr Scott said that although he has not been told exactly what the award was for, he felt it must have something to do with the Locomotion museum at Shildon, County Durham.
The chief constable of North Yorkshire, Della Cannings, has been presented with a Queen's Police Medal.
As well as her role with North Yorkshire Police, Ms Cannings has also undertaken national responsibilities through the Association of Chief Police Officers, including Health and Safety and the Airwave communications programme, and she is currently chairwoman of the association's women's forum.
