TEENAGE athlete Jennifer Crewdson has been placed in the top ten in the country.
The Northallerton College student qualified in a regional competition for the British Biathlon Championships, in Sheffield, where she came tenth out of a host of competitors from around the country.
She will next compete in February in another national competition pitting her skills in swimming and running against the country's other top young biathletes.
The college's head of sport, Ruth Curtis, said: "Being in the top ten in the country is a fabulous achievement for Jennifer and she is well on the way to establishing her name as one of the nation's best young athletes.
"We are all really looking forward to the New Year to see what she can achieve next. She really is one of the most talented athletes I have come across in my career.
"I really enjoy sport and love to compete," said Jennifer, 15, of Maunby, near Thirsk.
She also takes part in netball, hockey, diving, swimming, gymnastics, trampolining, dancing, fencing and shooting.
