MORE than £1,000 was raised for a Teesdale bagpipe band when it performed in Darlington.
The Rowan Pipe Band performed in the town on Monday to raise money for new equipment.
Pipe major Barry Waldron said: "We got a wonderful reception, and played some requests, including Flower of Scotland. We raised a total of £1,026.51 and would like to thank the borough council for allowing us to collect, and all those who donated and made appreciative comments."
