Design engineer NIGEL WILKINSON has moved to the region to join electronics group Mitsumi UK, in Jarrow, North Tyneside.
The 47-year-old joins the electronics specialist, which is part of the worldwide Mitsumi group, after spending 28 years with General Dynamics, at Hastings, on the south coast.
Specialising in printed circuit board design, he will support the in-house design and development team at Mitsumi, helping it to win more contracts in the automotive, aviation and industrial market sectors.
Mitsumi UK opened on Bede Industrial Estate, in Jarrow, in 1987 producing radio and video tuners.
It went on to manufacture cable television set-top boxes for the video tape and TV industry before moving into electronic design and contract manufacture.
