A THRIVING company in the region has clinched another IT contract with an international property firm to allow its staff global access to its computer systems.

Alpha Lan Systems, of Stockton, has a substantial IT support contract with the commercial division of Strutt and Parker (S&P) which is based in Mayfair, London.

As a result of its continuing relationship with S&P, Alpha has doubled turnover in the past three years to more than £500,000. It has also increased staff from two to eight, including the two directors.

In 1996, S&P, which is one of the UK's largest privately-owned property firms, chose tiny Alpha Lan to replace its ailing IT system. Since then, Alpha has provided IT support for the company and has won more than £100,000 of work in the past three years from S&P.

It has now clinched more work to equip S&P surveyors with advanced technology, which allows them to work on the company's computer system, wherever they are in the world.

Alpha has also clinched contracts with Storey Carpets, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and Cambrex Pharmaceuticals, which has sites at Seal Sands, on Teesside and Wokingham, in Berkshire.
