PEOPLE are being invited to get a head- start on their Christmas shopping.

Visually-impaired students at Henshaws College, Harrogate, are holding a seasonal arts and crafts fair on Saturday.

Local traders will be selling a range of goods, from framed prints, pop art and jewellery to home-made pork pies and preserves.

Henshaws students will also be selling their work, including handmade Christmas cards, mince pies and Christmas puddings.

There are a number of spaces remaining for stallholders who would like to showcase their products and help charity.

Donations given throughout the day will go towards the Henshaws Living Life Campaign, which aims to raise £3.5m towards the total £7.5m cost of upgrading residential facilities on campus.

The college provides life skills training for visually impaired young people with additional disabilities.

The fair is from 10.30am to 4.30pm, in the college's sports hall. For more information, contact Caroline Roberts on (01423) 814500.
