OUT-OF-SORTS Newcastle midfielder Amdy Faye is going nowhere fast - even if he wants to.

The Senegalese player's agent, Willie McKay, has revealed Faye is frustrated with life on the bench at St James' Park but is in no rush to leave.

There were suggestions over the weekend that Faye is being tracked by both West Ham and Wigan, but it seems neither club are actually in the hunt for the Newcastle man.

The Hammers are chasing a centre-forward and they already have Hayden Mullins and Christian Dailly providing the back up to their midfield ranks.

Wigan are also well blessed with numbers in that department of the pitch and their primary target is Copenhagen's South African right-winger Elrio van Heerden.

Faye has started just 12 games since his arrival in January and is eager to play more matches in a bid to build his confidence.

A number of anaemic displays from the former Portsmouth man has hardly endeared him to the Tyneside faithful and the 28-year-old feels he needs to play more if he is to win the boo-boys over.

"Amdy is happy at Newcastle, but like all players he wants to be playing regularly," said McKay. "There were several clubs interested before he joined Newcastle and I am sure there are a number of sides looking at him.

"Amdy knows Newcastle are a massive club with huge expectations and he fully understands that there is going to be competition for places. Amdy is happy to be at Newcastle and is ready to fight for his place."

One player who is unlikely to be joining Faye at Newcastle is Aldo Duscher.

The Argentinean - who famously broke David Beckham's metatarsal before the 2002 World Cup - was part of the Deportivo La Coruna side which defeated Newcastle in the Intertoto Cup during the summer.

Duscher, a midfielder, has admitted he has no intention of moving to the Premiership and wants to remain in La Liga.

"I have received some phone calls from Newcastle and Manchester United.

"They both said that they would like to have me in the winter when the transfer window opens," said the 26-year-old.

"But to be honest, I am interested in playing well at Deportivo and fighting for a place in the national team.

"I am very happy with my performances at Deportivo and that will maybe give me the chance."

Duscher's former Deportivo team-mate Albert Luque has been challenged to prove his fitness over the next fortnight.

Luque misses out on Spain's vital two-legged World Cup qualifier against Slovakia because of the hamstring injury picked up in the 1-1 draw with Fulham on September 10.

And Newcastle manager Graeme Souness wants the left-winger to use the international break to make a full recovery from the injury and force his way into contention for the visit of Chelsea on November 19.
