TEACHERS in County Durham are being urged to use the region's history and heritage to liven up lessons.
Heritage Education Around Durham (Head) is a collective of museums, libraries and archives that have joined up to promote their facilities and resources to teachers across the region.
Secondary school staff can find out what they can offer at Bishop Auckland Town Hall Library on Thursday, from 4pm to 7pm.
Sarah Gouldsbrough, Durham County Council's schools development officer, said: "We hope to encourage teachers to find out what is available on their doorstep and how it can be used to enrich the National Curriculum.
"Recent projects have included work in the arts, creative writing, citizenship, leisure and tourism projects and work with gifted and talented students."
