A PERSISTENT thief from Darlington has pleaded guilty to breaching a conditional discharge after being caught in the act again.
Steven Grebby, of Neasham Road, was made the subject of the six-month discharge in July for theft.
The 34-year-old has also breached a 12-month community rehabilitation order by failing to attend appointments with the probation service.
The order was imposed in June for a further three thefts.
He admitted the latest charge of theft and both breaches when he appeared before Darlington Magistrates' Court yesterday.
The court heard Grebby was in the town's Halfords on September 20 when he stole a touch-up spray gun. He was caught by security guards, who contacted police.
Grebby was given a new 12-month community order, to include drug rehabilitation and supervision. He was also fined £20 for the court order breach. The conditional discharge has been allowed to continue and he will be made to pay court costs of £43.
