POLICE are warning motorists to take care of valuable car gadgets following the theft of a satellite navigation system from a parked vehicle.
The Road Angel system, worth about £200, was stolen from a parked Alfa Romeo, in Clyde Terrace, Spennymoor, in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Sergeant Iain Rodgers, of Spennymoor beat team, said: "These devices are becoming more popular and they are usually on display in the car windscreen. If a driver has a similar device they should remember to remove it while the car is parked up."
Witnesses to the incident or anyone with information, including suspicions about the sale of similar items, is asked to call Durham Police on 0845 60 60 365.
