ONLINE shopping guide Shopsafe.co.uk is one of the top 1,000 most used websites in the UK, according to a survey by Ranking.com.
The website, owned by Darlington-based web-design agency Edward Robertson, has also been named the second most popular site for online shopping trips.
The guide put Shopsafe.co.uk in a higher position than the likes of The Met Office, Network Rail, Sainsbury's and ITV Football.
Company director Simon Crisp said the website, set up in 1999, acts like a Yellow Pages for other online sites.
"Its actually quite an achievement to be more popular than sites such as Sainsbury's," he said.
