A NORTH-EAST model is starring in a charity calendar combining girls and greyhounds.

The calendar, called Long Legged Beauties, features models and dogs posing together, in an idea that organisers say is unique.

Models from across the UK were selected to take part, including Natalie Raper, from Darlington, who said the project was "probably one of my most enjoyable and rewarding shoots of the year".

The calendar was the idea of Stuart and Jenny Stott, from Cumbria, who take in rescued greyhounds and are raising money for a re-homing charity.

Mr Stott said: "The long-legged beauties are, of course, the greyhounds.

"They are beautiful animals. The whole idea behind involving the models in this calendar is to help us reach a wider audience.

"We want to show people just what great pets greyhounds can be and also make existing owners of racing dogs more aware that rescue centres are able to find new homes for the animals."

Mr and Mrs Stott will donate £1 from each calendar, which costs £7.49, to Dumfriesshire Greyhound Rescue.
