ONE of the country's leading fast food delivery companies has confirmed it is likely to open a new outlet in Durham City.

Domino's Pizza, which already has 380 sites around the UK, is looking for suitable premises in the area.

The company said Durham had been earmarked as one of the key sites for the company's expansion in the coming year.

Colin Jarrold, the firm's property acquisition manager, said: "We are very keen to open a new store in Durham and become part of another vibrant community.

"Durham is an ideal location for a new store and our research has shown that there is plenty of demand for the Domino's home-delivered pizza service."

The company said a new store would create up to 30 new jobs in the city and staff were now searching for suitable premises, which would be around 1,000 sq ft.
