A BUMPER firework display will light up the region's skies on November 5 to celebrate the 400th anniversary the attempted bombing of Parliament by Guy Fawkes.

Twice the usual quantity of fireworks will be used in Stockton's spectacular display, which attracts thousands of people from across the North-East.

The Riverside show will begin at 6pm. Riverside Road will be closed to traffic between 4pm and 8pm. It will be closed from Tower Street to northbound traffic and motorists leaving the rooftop car park above Castlegate Shopping Centre via the circular ramp will only be allowed to travel towards Thornaby. Shoppers using the centre after 4pm will only be able to use the multi-storey car park.

The TFM Roadshow will be in Stockton High Street from 4pm.
