THE parents of missing Jenny Nicholl will make a public appeal for help to trace their daughter next week.

Brian and Anne Nicholl will publish a notice in the local press on Thursday - the day their daughter should be at home celebrating her 20th birthday.

It is understood the couple will wish Miss Nicholl a happy birthday and make an appeal for anyone with information on their daughter's whereabouts to contact police.

The move comes after detectives this week insisted there would be no let-up in the search.

It is three months today since Miss Nicholl disappeared. She was last seen by her parents at their home in Richmond, North Yorkshire, on June 30.

Every police force in Britain has received a description of Miss Nicholl, door-to-door enquiries have been conducted and extensive searches of the countryside have been carried out.

Much of the searching has centred on the remote Downholme Moor, near Richmond, where Miss Nichol spent time walking and camping.

During the early days of the investigation, caving experts were brought in to check several disused lead mines on the moors.

The police investigation is being co-ordinated by Richmond CID's Detective Inspector Pete Martin.

He said: "We are still putting a great effort into finding Jenny."

Miss Nicholl is 5ft 6in, slim with green eyes, a fresh complexion and shoulder-length light brown hair, usually worn in a ponytail.

Anyone with information is asked to call (01423) 539334.
