TWO teenagers appeared before magistrates yesterday charged with the attempted murder of a 40-year-old man.
Liam Hodgson, 18, of George Street, Stanley, County Durham and a 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were refused bail when they appeared before Peterlee Magistrates' Court.
Both were charged with the attempted murder of Alan Eke, of Stanley, between September 19 and 22.
Neither entered pleas to the charge and both were remanded in custody until September 30, when they will appear at Newcastle Crown Court.
