A man and a woman on a motorcycle were killed when they collided with a tractor at Carlbury Crossings, hear Darlington.
Emergency services were called on Thursday to the scene of the accident at Carlbury Crossings, on a minor road from the A67.
Police said the tractor driver had to be treated for shock.
Accident investigators have examined the road and have also appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
