A EUROPEAN conference on the use of information technology in local and regional government takes place in the North-East today.
The meeting, called Evolving eGovernment in Europe's Regions and Cities, takes place in the Gala Theatre, Durham City.
It has been organised by the EU Committee of the Regions and will examine ways in which local and regional authorities can improve public services through use of information and communication technology.
Speakers at the conference include Alex Watson, chairman of the North East Assembly.
