Three young men were arrested yesterday after being suspected of pulling down a "for sale" sign outside a village house and damaging a car parked outside.
It is alleged that the three, aged 18 and 19, interfered with the sign in Moor View, Cockfield, near Barnard Castle, and caused criminal damage to the car.
They were later released on bail pending further inquiries and were told to report back to the police on September 8.
