TWO North-East students have been selected for a programme which aims to deliver highly committed and inspirational teachers for London inner city schools.
They are Charlotte Taylor, 22, with a 2:1 BSc in natural sciences, and Hannah Moulden, 22, who graduated, with a 2:1 BA (Hons) in theology, both from the University of Durham.
They will undergo a six-week intensive teacher training course at Canterbury Christ Church University before starting work in the classroom in September.
The two will commit themselves to two years in the classroom, before choosing either to stay in schools or to seek a fast-track career in another sector.
Ms Taylor, who will be teaching science to pupils at Eltham Green School, said: "This programme provides a real opportunity to make a difference in young people's lives and to develop my own skills."
Ms Moulden will be teaching religious education to pupils at Bexley Business Academy in London.
