Foster's ECB North East Regional Premier League: Norton have their eyes set on finishing in the highest position since the league was formed after the Symington brothers spearheaded a big win at Gateshead Fell.
Marc struck an unbeaten 118 and captain Craig added 43 to an unbroken fourth wicket partnership which propelled Norton way past the 200 mark.
John Watson contributed a valuable half century opening the innings.
Jonathan Kean and Marc Symington then shared seven wickets where there was only token resistance from Allan Worthy as the Fell innings collapsed to just 123 all out.
Stockton faced a big test against Tynemouth and rose to the occasion winning by two wickets.
Their target was 232 and after James Lowe and Guy Darwin gave them a good start, two wickets fell cheaply before Peter Howells with 53 and Chris Hooker (30) led the recovery.
Alan Walker then took over and his unbeaten 37 was critical as Barry Stewart (4-28) threatened to bowl Tynemouth to victory.
Stephen Scott (44) and Ian Purdy (74) produced a big stand for the third wicket when the visitors batted first.
A mini collapse followed before Smith (32) and Saikat Sarkar with an unbeaten 41 enabled a declaration to be made at 231 for seven. Walker conceded just 17 runs taking four wickets.
Following two consecutive defeats, South Northumberland's championship challenge is back on course.
They defeated neighbours Newcastle when Stephen Humble and Lee Crozier both took four wickets and although Matthew Hynd opened with 30, the total of 143 never looked sufficient.
South North did concede five wickets but were never in serious danger as captain John Graham ended unbeaten on 89.
Chester-le-Street easily won the match of the day with fourth-top Sunderland, who have lost four of their last five fixtures.
Wayne Ritzema (43) and Andrew Smith (44) retrieved an indifferent start by the Cestrians and a half century from Durham County's Graeme Bridge resulted in a declaration with 215 for nine on top.
Once again, Sunderland's batting disappointed and they were all out for just 120 with Glen Read and Andrew Bell sharing seven of the wickets.
Philadelphia moved off the bottom for the first time in several weeks when they held Durham Academy to a draw at Bunker Hill.
Mark Stoneman (46), Mohamed with 63 and Carl Turner (51) led the Academy to 231 for five from the 65 overs.
Left with 60 overs, Phili made a good start through South African Brett Pelser (55) and Paul Riddle (37)
But when Riddle was run out, no batsman produced an innings to worry the visitors and at stumps a total of only 181 for seven had been realised.
Blaydon are third from the basement but 52 points clear of the relegation position.
Neil McGarrell hit an undefeated century and Ray Marshall 54 in their side's total of 213 for six at Benwell Hill.
The big threat was Taufeeq Umar, but he was soon sent back and it was Paul Cummins with an unbeaten 78 and Thompson (43) who posed the biggest danger to Blaydon.
Stephen Smith though pegged away in the attack and when he took four wickets, the in-form Benwell Hill batsmen were restricted to 183 for seven.
