Middleton St George maintained their 100pc record when they had five wickets to spare at Cockerton.

Batting first, the home side were restricted to 134 for nine as Rodgers claimed four wickets for 35 and McKenna four for 66. Farrow top scored for Cockerton with 35 before Bainbridge (54no) and Birbeck (40not) put together an unbroken partnership for the sixth wicket which swept Middleton St George to their 13th consecutive victory.

Rockliffe Park, in second place, won for the tenth time when they ran out 79 runs ahead of Spennithorne and Harmby.

The Park batted first and totalled 259 for nine as the runs flowed particularly from Briggs with an unbeaten 82 and Garbutt 38. Farrow took four for 83 and Walker three for 61.

Replying, Spennithorne and Harmby ended with 180 for eight on the board which included 46 by Farrow while for Rockliffe Park Pybus had three for 29 and Cundy three for 38.

Barningham were given a splendid start in their home match with Ingleton. Blackburn (47) and Walker (65) dominated and Bell, who batted at number three, ended undefeated on 39 in his team's total of 211 for four.

Replying Ingleton were all out for 117 which included a top scoring 29 by Stuart Dawson. Bellwood was in outstanding form with the ball for Barningham capturing five wickets for a mere 27 runs.

Haughton met Cliffe and it was Cliffe who came out on top of the bottom of the table clash by a margin of 77 runs.

Hipkiss (67) and his opening partner Knights (98) provided the perfect platform for Cliffe's total of 239 for five, which also included 43 by Curry. Wilkinson captured three of the five wickets to fall for 43 runs.

In reply Haughton ended on 162 all out and although there were useful contributions no player made a really big score. Cliffe used six bowlers in their attack and the most successful was Foster with three for 19.

Aldbrough St John defeated Heighington by 31 runs. Following an indifferent start Aldbrough recovered with Jones scoring 27 and Raw an unbeaten 34. A total of 164 for seven was achieved with Boocock, Waite and Olney all taking a couple of wickets for Heighington, who were sent back to the pavilion with 133 runs on the board. Wood was the top wicket taker with five for 43 while Cunnachie, Hoyle and Wood shared four wickets.

Raby Castle overtook the Barton total of 179 all out with six wickets in hand. Stephen West struck 48 and his brother Graham ended unbeaten on 33 which together with 33 not out by Ian Dent enabled Raby Castle to win in 31 overs. Dave Porritt sent down nine overs in the Barton attack taking two for 45.

Batting first Barton were all out in 38 overs for 179 which included 57 by Neil Kearney with two sixes and nine boundaries. Tony Miller struck seven fours in 36 and for Raby Castle Jamie Stewart returned six for 36 in 13 overs while Ian Dent also bowled 13 overs ending with three for 46.

Lands still lead Division B after their 122 run win at Trimdon CCA. Elstob (54) and Linsley (53) put together a big partnership for the third wicket and when Cummings added 52 not out Lands totalled 202 for six.

Replying Trimdon CCA were all out for just 80 with Linsley completing a good day with four for 27 while Little had three for 17.

Witton-le-Wear are second and they had eight wickets in hand at Eryholme despite the home side totalling 175 for five, which included 80 by Clark and 43 from Warne. Nelson captured three of the five wickets to go down for only 21 runs and in response Witton-le-Wear won with an unbroken third wicket partnership between Crisp (66no) and Jones with an undefeated 40.

Middleton-in-Teesdale are third after they lost for only the third time this season when Barton ran out six-wicket winners. Middleton managed only 89 all out with Pheasant returning seven for 43 and Hull three for 39 for Barton. Bell and Kelly both struck 30 in Barton's match winning reply of 93 for four.

Despite totalling 171 all out Spennymoor lost by six wickets to Rockliffe Park. Troup (58) top performed for the home side and Groves added a useful 25 while for Rockliffe Park Raby was in splendid form with the ball ending with six for 47.

Pounder was Rockliffe Park's match winner with the bat. He opened the innings and was still there at the end undefeated with 91. Dell added 22 and Graham an unbeaten 24.

Catterick Village went down by eight wickets at Brompton on Swale whose target was 140. They lost their openers for a combined total of only 13 runs before McGough dominated the innings with an undefeated 87, forming a productive unbroken partnership for the third wicket with Hanratty (21no).

Batting first Catterick Village were restricted to 139 for eight and more than half the total was scored by Coultish with 73. Felstead, McGough and Hutchinson all took two wickets for Brompton.

Heighington overtook the East Cowton of 103 accumulated in 29 overs with seven wickets remaining. Jeff Taylor opened the innings and finished 30 not out with four boundaries while John Overfield struck one six and six fours in an undefeated 34 out of a total of 104 for three made in 25 overs.

Steve Clark top scored with 23 for East Cowton and for Heighington Richard Jameson took three for 20 in eight overs and Overfield three for 17 from the seven overs he delivered.

In Division C Haughton defeated Cliffe by two runs. Riley returned six for 34 in the Haughton innings of 129 and despite 32 by Dobson, Haughton won by two runs when Cliffe were dismissed for 127 with Norman Sturman claiming six wickets for 26 runs.

Stacey had three for 20 when Dales were all out for 138, a target which Aldbrough St John failed to meet when they pegged to 131 for eight.

King James just had the edge on Trimdon CCA and after scoring 143 for nine they dismissed Trimdon for 126.

Kellett with 90 led Lands to a nine wickets victory over Raby Castle who totalled 166 for seven while Cockerton beat the Middleton Tyas score of 151 for six with their last pair at the wicket. Smee (54) top scored and for Middleton Tyas Campbell claimed five wickets for 49 runs. Hirst (54no) was in good form with the bat for Middleton Tyas.

Trimdon Colliery and Deaf Hill easily defeated Barningham who were all out for 59 with Strong taking four for 24. When Trimdon Colliery batted first they posted 205 for five as the runs flowed from Craggs (80) and Tinkler (74).
