A PLAN to create a waste site next to a pub has been unanimously rejected.
W Dale and Son wanted to develop the composting site near the Black-a-Moor Inn, at Bridge Hewick, close to Copt Hewick village, near Ripon.
But members of Harrogate Borough Council voted unanimously against the project.
Residents had expressed concern about potential air and noise pollution because of the site's proximity to homes.
A final decision on the scheme will be made by North Yorkshire County Council planning officers.
