CHILDREN are using their talents to give their community centre a new lease of life.
Youngsters from Sunnybrow, near Willington, have been aided in their quest by a £2,500 grant from the County Durham Foundation through the Neighbourhood Renewal Community Chest.
They have also been given paint by Wear Valley District Council.
The project is part of Sunnybrow Residents Association's plans to redecorate and modernise the centre.
Chairwoman of the association, Allison McFarlane, enlisted the help of local children.
They will be taking part in the project as part of a series of arts and craft sessions run by Sue Abel and Jenny Mountain, of Scrap Bank, a group that funds arts and craft courses in the area.
Children from the ages of three up to 15 have spent two weeks creating a mural for the main room of the centre.
