ABOUT 200 people enjoyed the sounds of the Australian outback and the hypnotic beat of samba drums at a youth festival yesterday.
The multi-cultural fiesta at Fishburn Community Centre provided a varied programme of activities including workshops on how to play the didgeridoo - the Aboriginal instrument made famous by Rolf Harris - and the samba drums.
The event, which was funded by Durham County Council's education in the community unit and County Durham Positive Activities for Young People provided a recipes and examples of traditional cuisine from countries across the world.
