POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an alleged road rage incident in a south Durham village on Monday afternoon.
A red Rover car was almost forced off the road in Spencer Street, Eldon Lane, near Bishop Auckland, shortly before 2pm, leaving the occupants shocked, but unhurt.
A white Vauxhall Corsa was the other vehicle involved.
Detectives said yesterday they believed the incident may be connected to an assault which took place in the Eldon Lane area, on Sunday evening, for which a local man has been arrested, charged and bailed to appear before magistrates at a later date.
A police spokesman said last night: "A local 25-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the road rage incident and released on bail pending further inquiries."
Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Michael Turner or DC Andy Crowe at Bishop Auckland CID, call 0845 606 0365, extension 6732111.
