A YOUNG single mum collapsed and died at home.
Fiona Yeaman, 21, was found unconscious on Sunday, July 3, at her home in Strathmore Road, Gosforth.
Although paramedics managed to resuscitate her on the way to hospital, her parents were warned she may be brain-damaged even if she pulled through.
Her life support machine was switched off two days later.
Now her family have vowed to make sure Ms Yeaman's three-year-old daughter, Stephanie, who will be raised by grandparents, never forgets her mum.
Ms Yeaman's mother, Rita, a 53-year-old teacher, from Gosforth, Newcastle, described her daughter as a "bright, caring girl with lots of friends".
She said: "Fiona was the life and soul. Nobody can believe she's gone."
An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
