Darlington Building Society NYSD Premier Legue Premier Division: Saltburn completed a magnificent weekend and extended their lead to 48 points when they bowled out Redcar for only 64 in yesterday's re-arranged fixture.

Navider Singh took his haul from the double programme to 11 wickets returning 7-41 and Lee Hodgson claimed three wickets for less than 10 runs for the second successive day.

Saltburn then strolled to a nine wicket win as Paul Ramage ended unbeaten with 31.

After bowling out Billingham Synthonia for a mere 41 on Saturday, Saltburn captured 20 wickets for a total of only 105 runs in the two games.

And while Saltburn are going to take some stopping in the race for the championship, Billingham Synthonia have a fight on their hands to avoid relegation.

The gulf between the pair was in evidence when the match was all over in less than 31 overs.

Synners slumped to 41 all out from 20.1 overs with six players failing to score. Twenty five of the runs came from one player and there were six extras meaning that 10 players managed just 10 runs between them.

It was all too easy for the Saltburn attack. Tim Hood, Navinder Singh and Lee Hodgson shared the wickets before the Seasiders scored the necessary runs in 10.4 overs.

It was a more difficult for Guisborough at Middlesbrough where they were required to score 211 runs for victory.

But they did it losing six wickets and were indebted to Stephen Pennock for his top-scoring 89. Imran Jan (34) and Richard Dunn (32) gave support but the six-man Boro attack gave little away.

Batting first, the home side posted 210 for nine with Darren Birkett (57), Martin Ball (49) and Omar Shahid (34) leading the way. David Towse returned 3-45 and Dunn 4-52 in the Guisborough attack.

Marske were the only other side to win on a day when four games were drawn. They saw off neighbours Redcar by seven wickets after reducing their visitors to only 119 in 44.4 overs.

Neil Russell struck six boundaries in 36 made from 55 deliveries but the bowling of Rob Nicol (10.4-4-31) and Chris Nichols (14-0-24) caused problems.

Marske's reply faltered at the start with the early dismissal of openers Nicol and Ryan Lazenby but Richard Rennard took charge. He ended unbeaten on 77, hitting one six and 13 fours from 75 deliveries and his quick-fire innings brought success from 24.1 overs.

Normanby Hall were closest to victory against Great Ayton whose last pair was at the wicket when time was called.

Mohamed Zahid delivered 27 overs taking 4-50 and Farukh Ahmed had an analysis of 3-19 in 11 overs as Ayton struggled through 53 overs for 117 for nine which included 42 by David Grainge. Runs flowed when Normanby Hall took first innings and totalled 217 all out in 46.5 overs.

Steve McNicholas hit four sixes and 10 fours in 74 and Neil Pearson had a six and eight boundaries out of 47. David Grainge gave little away in the Ayton attack taking four for 28 runs in 8.5 overs and Colin Murray also captured four at a cost of 43 runs in 12 overs.

Mark Stainsby (63) and Jerry Hall (54) laid the foundations for the Northallerton total of 207 for eight achieved from 50 overs against Bishop Auckland at Kingsway. The home side used six bowlers in the attack, the most successful being Chris Sawyer, who returned 3-62 from 17 overs.

There were early setbacks for Bishops but Amul Mazumdar was again in superb form. He batted throughout for an unbeaten 102 (12 boundaries) and John Barker added a valuable 31 to the total of 165 for four from the 50 overs.

Darlington were 141 for seven at close of play against Hartlepool at Feethams. Steve Chapman top scored with 39 as Ian Jackson produced an economical 3-26 from 14 overs in the Pool attack.

Hartlepool's 50 overs resulted in 187 for eight. Michael Gough opened with 43 and Richie Evans struck eight boundaries in 51 before a late undefeated 33 from Ashley Day gave the innings a lift.

Phil Raine was the most successful bowler for Darlington, taking 3-54 from his 16 overs.

Darlington RA totalled 210 for nine and Richmondshire were 182 for seven at stumps. Ashar Zaidi was again among the runs with 48 and skipper Phil Crowther contributed 67 with a couple of sixes and six boundaries. Five RA wickets were claimed by Andy Fleming for 57 runs in 13 overs.

Shanoka Dissanayake gave Richmond a chance but when he was dismissed for 82 after hitting 13 boundaries the innings suffered.
