A MIDDLESBROUGH woman has suffered a fractured skull after a yob hurled a brick at her.
The 40-year-old was struck as she walked along Bridge Street West in the town at about 8pm on Thursday.
She managed to stagger to her home before being taken to the James Cook University Hospital, where she was detained for treatment.
PC James Garrett said: "This was a cruel and cowardly attack on a defenceless woman. I would urge witnesses to contact the police."
