POLICE searching for a missing teenager were last night questioning drinkers in her home town.

Concern is growing for the safety of 19-year-old Jenny Nicholl, of Richmond, North Yorkshire.

She left her home on the evening of Thursday, June 30, and was reported missing on Monday.

Her white Rover 214i was found at the Holly Hill pub in Richmond.

Officers last night toured pubs with photographs of the teenager in a bid to jog the memories of drinkers. The exercise will be repeated tonight.

A police spokesman said: "A popular young woman with a wide circle of friends and acquaintances, Jenny enjoys evenings in pubs, especially those where she takes part in pool contests.

"Officers want to hear from anyone who has seen her out and about, or in one of her favourite pubs.

"She is a well-known figure, sipping her favourite Diesel drink, with her fair hair usually tied up on top of her head in a ponytail."

Miss Nicholl's family are extremely concerned because it is out of character for her to go away without telling anyone.

She is 5ft 6in, slim and has green eyes, a fresh complexion and fair, shoulder-length hair.

On the evening of Thursday, June 30, she was wearing a pink sleeveless top, blue jeans with holes in the knees, a khaki duffel coat and black trainers.

Anyone who has seen her, or has any information about her whereabouts, is asked to call the police on (01423) 539334.
