A STUDIO that clinched a deal to produce miniature figures for Hollywood blockbuster Lord of the Rings is embarking on its latest venture.
Tyneside-based company Crafty Corner and Ceramic Studio supplied hundreds of miniature figurines, based on characters from the movie trilogy, to toy company Star Toys.
From its studio in South Shields, workers created cold-cast porcelain figures of Gandalf, Frodo, Saruman and Legolas, which were individually hand-painted before being exported.
The contract is now drawing to an end.
Trevor Dixon-Cave, founder of Crafty Corner, said: "The contract was a very exciting one for us to get, particularly because of the popularity of the film."
The company has now launched a range of bronze graduation figurines for students to mark their academic achievements. For more information visit www.crafty corneruk.com
