THREE people were injured when a Vauxhall Corsa collided with a Toyota MR2 on the A174 near Staithes Culvert.
The road was closed for two-and-a-half hours following the crash at 5.50pm yesterday.
The driver of the Corsa, a 19-year-old woman, from Staithes, broke her right hand.
A 26-year-old Redcar man, driving the Toyota, and his passenger, a 25-year-old man also from Redcar, were taken to Middlesbrough General Hospital with whiplash injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information should call PC Graham Hornsby on (01642) 301552.
