Just four games are left for Boro as the season is well into the final run-in, and the target remains to get at least seven points to equal last season's Premiership tally.

The performance at Chelsea last weekend was a great improvement on the previous display at Coventry, and manager Bryan Robson paid tribute to the players: "We spoke at length after the defeat at Highfield Road and of the need to finish the season well, and I thought that the players responded at Stamford Bridge. Conceding an early goal was always going to be a test of character, but we fought our way back in the game and the equaliser from Hamilton Ricard was no more than we deserved."

Naturally, Boro fans are speculating on who may be brought in to strengthen the squad during the close season and the manager is working hard on his targets: "I am determined to bring in four top quality players and I am confident that a couple will arrive early in the close season."

Boro travel to West Ham tomorrow and Mark Summerbell is continuing to enjoy the experience of regular first team football: "You get a lot of confidence from playing in the team regularly, but you also know that you must keep your standards high, otherwise you will be out. West Ham have a number of quality players, although I was saddened to hear that Joe Cole had broken his leg in a recent match, as I think he is a great prospect and it would have been good to see his quality on the pitch." Other dangers? "Paul Di Canio has been outstanding and has scored some spectacular goals but it's all down to us to try and reproduce the same display we put in at Stamford Bridge."

After West Ham, Boro have a derby with Newcastle and face already relegated Watford at the Riverside before the final fixture at Everton on May 14
