Charlie Agiadis took over as the league's leading scorer when he hit five, taking his tally to 31, as Acklam Steelworks crushed visitors BEADS 12-1 in midweek to record their highest score of the season.

The home side raced into a seven-goal lead at the break after Craig Hallet opened the scoring from 25-yards. Steven Boyle added two in five minutes before Charlie Agiadis opened his account with a penalty after 27 minutes before hitting a second two minutes later.

A second penalty brought Agiadis' hat-trick with Boyle also hitting his third three minutes from the interval.

Thornaby-on-Tees shared the points with a 1-1 draw when they entertained Grangetown Boys Club who were reduced to ten men just before the break when Gary Simpson was sent off.

Robbie Shaw put the home side ahead after 30 minutes but, five minutes from the break, Grangetown levelled when Stuart Padgett scored.

Thornaby were unable to make the extra man count in the second half despite having most of the play as their visitors held on for a point.

But Grangetown were back to winning ways on Saturday when they defeated visitors Thornaby Youth Club 4-2.

Calvin Foley up the home side ahead in the 17th minute but the Youth Club levelled through Mac Allen after 38 minutes only for Anthony Roberts to restore the home advantage with a strike two minutes from the break.

A Dave Robson strike seven minutes after the restart extended the Grangetown lead with substitute Ian Webster adding the fourth after 65 minutes.

Michael Arif reduced the visitors' deficit in the 81st minute.

Grangetown now trail Acklam Steelworks by six points, with a game in hand, after the leaders suffered a 5-3 defeat at home to Nunthorpe Athletic, seven of the goals coming in the second half after the home side were reduced to ten men just before the break.

Both sides had chances in the first half but Nunthorpe took the lead a minute before half-time through Phil Pinkney with a disputed goal which Acklam believed was offside. In the dispute that followed, John Loughran was sent off for dissent.

Nunthorpe took advantage of their extra man to race into a four-goal lead on the hour, Peter Boldison, Pinkney and Paul McCrone all on target.

Acklam pulled one back after 63 minutes through Darren Roulston who then added their second seven minutes later. With ten minutes remaining, Charlie Agiadis struck to reduce the deficit to one only for Karl Swales to secure the points with a goal five minutes from time.

Third-placed Cargo Fleet crashed to a surprise 4-0 defeat when they entertained Whitby Town Reserves, all the goals coming in the second half.

Two strikes from Jason Draper after the restart sent the visitors on their way to victory with substitute Colin Pllu increasing the lead with a goal five minute from time and Draper completing his hat-trick in the dying seconds of the match.
