TWO men who assaulted a pub landlord were jailed on Wednesday.
Thomas Oliver, 41, and Anthony Hawkins, 22, were also banned for two years from the Riverside pub in Stockton.
They punched the landlord, Mr Paul McConnell, when he tried to eject Oliver for using obscene language to Mr McConnell's 14-year-old niece, said Mr Michael Bosomworth, prosecuting.
They also fought with police officers and were violent and abusive right up until they were put in the cells at Stockton police station.
Oliver from Dundas Street, Stockton, and Hawkins, from Hind Street, Stockton, were both jailed for three months at Teesside crown court after they admitted threatening behaviour and common assault on July 23.
Mr Nigel Soppitt, defending, said Oliver wished to apologise publicly to the landlord.
