A primary care group has won £5,000 to help to pilot a national strategy aimed at tackling osteoporosis.
The Sedgefield primary care group is one of eight pilot areas across the country that has won funding over three years from the National Osteoporosis Society.
It will help to identify elderly people in nursing and residential homes at risk from the disease.
