LINTZ CELTIC have paid a heavy price for failing to make an appearance at the Com 200 UK Consett Sunday League's annual meeting.
Last season's division one strugglers have been relegated to the third division as is stated in the league rules for non-attendance at the annual meeting.
Joining Lintz will be three new clubs. Two of the clubs, East Stanley WMC and Tanfield Peacock Inn, have made the switch from the Stanley Sunday League.
Making up the trio is Blackhill Cricketers in what will be a 14-team third division. The first and second divisions will both operate with 12 teams each.
League champions Consett Rugby Club have changed their name and will now be known as Consett Stateside. Division three champions Leadgate Sportsmans have also made a name change and will operate in division two at Leadgate Golden Lion. Jolly Drovers have reverted to Dipton Bird Inn.
After just one season in division three, Cussins Homes will now be known as the Consett Steel Club and Barkell will take the name of the Duke of Wellington.
