A new style support service which provides a single point of access to a pool of expertise covering vital European legislation is now available to small and medium-sized businesses in the North-East.

CEMARK brings together five organisations with extensive collective experience helping smaller businesses to comply with the New Approach Directives. These directives set out essential health and safety requirements for products ranging from machinery to household goods, as well as cover environmental issues such as packaging.

The partners are collaborating in a part European-funded service which will help qualifying businesses to identify and carry out any action needed to achieve compliance with relevant legislation.

The five CEMARK partners are: The CE Marking Centre, University of Durham; Stockton & Billingham College Projects and Development Unit; Darlington College of Technology; Teesside Advice, Consultancy and Training and Teesside Tertiary College.
