FOLLOWING their eight-wicket victory over Richmondshire on Saturday, Guisborough have moved up the table to join the championship contenders.
With the toss going in their favour for only the second time this season they put the visitors into bat and were rewarded with an early wicket when Goodchild had Mollitt caught behind in the seventh over.
But former Guisborough professional Umer Rashid displayed all his old batting skills in scoring a faultless 62 before being run out and shared a 60 partnership with Hill (35). Other contributions came from Smith (22) and Whitton (23) to take Richmondshire's score to 179 for seven.
The Guisborough openers shared a 71 opening partnership before Saul Clifford was out for 27, but Graham Shaw was there at the finish with an undefeated match-winning innings of 84 with support from Dunn and Ramage to give the Priorymen a well-deserved victory by eight wickets.
An opportunity to further improve their league position was met with great disappointment on Sunday when their game in hand against Blackhall was cancelled after torrential rain left the ground waterlogged.
Guisborough are away to Blackhall tomorrow.
