PLANS are being laid for a major reunion of former employees of Consett Steelwork's garage depot.
Billy Robson, of Consett YMCA, is organising a reunion for ex-workers and their families to help to celebrate the site and the people who worked there before it closed in 1980.
As part of the celebrations, organisers are also appealing for members of the community to help them put together a photographic history of the site.
Mr Robson said: "It's 20 years since Consett Steelworks and its garage shut down, so we thought it was time to celebrate the work that went on there."
The reunion bash will be held at Leadgate Social Club on September 15 and anyone with photographs or memorabilia should contact Billy at Consett's YMCA.
