HIGH-FLIERS are getting a grounding in a low-level sport with the opening of a kart club.
The club has been established at RAF Leeming following a visit by station personnel to a civilian track last year.
And now a newly-formed kart committee has created several miles of track on the airfield and moving 3,000 car tyres into place on the side of the track.
The club, which has bought five karts with a grant from the RAF Central Fund for sports, was opened by station commander Group Captain John Cliffe, who is pictured in the driving seat, with other club members.
