ALAN Shoulder resigned as Crook Town manager last week following the re-election of chairman Bill Penman at the club's annual meeting. Assistant David Torr has also resigned.
Shoulder, who made his name as a player with Bishop Auckland and Blyth Spartans before proving himself in the professional ranks with Newcastle United and Carlisle United, took over as manager of Crook in November 1998.
While Crook finished in the bottom half of the then Arnott Insurance (now Albany) North-ern League first division in his two seasons in charge, last season Crook reached the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup and the fourth round proper of the FA Vase.
"I brought 30 players to Crook for no fees, and Northern League players are very difficult to get hold of," said Shoulder, who is now looking for a new position.
Anyone interested in the vacancy at Crook should contact secretary Alan Stewart on (01388) 763425.
