The runs flowed when Esh Winning met Crook Town and posted a very healthy 158 for the loss of just six wickets.

Tom Settle led the way with 65 and Chris Dodds added 50 while in the Crook attack Christopher Guy's three wickets cost 29 runs.

The other three wickets were claimed by Bowey for 45 runs and when the visitors responded they were restricted to 78 for seven which included a top scoring 44 by Bowey.

Chris Dodds completed a good game for Esh Winning when he captured three for 14 as Esh Winning enjoyed a big victory.

Tudhoe had nine wickets to spare at home to Sedgefield who they bowled out for just 53. Harry Collingwood claimed three wickets for ten runs, Tim Smalley captured three for 18, Chris Glaster had two for 11 and David Curry took the other two wickets for seven runs.

The target proved easy for Tudhoe who conceded one wicket as Daniel Fox carried his bat for 22.

Bishop Auckland went down by nine wickets to visitors Hunwick and Etherley had 39 runs to spare on their visit to Ushaw Moor.

Batting first, Etherley ended on 129 for four which included 45 by Carl McGregor and an unbeaten 66 from Smailes.

When Ushaw Moor batted they were pegged to 90 for nine with Smailes, Lyall and Luke all capturing a couple of wickets.

Boddington's Durham Coast League U-18

Gary Taylor took four wickets without a conceding a run when Bill Quay defeated South Hetton by nine wickets. Taylor's outstanding figures together with David Pritchard (three for 11) and Anthony Trotter (three for eight) meant that South Hetton were back in the pavilion for 45.

John Chamberlain, who frequently appears in the Bill Quay first team, steered his side to an easy win when he finished unbeaten on 31 out a total of 46 for one.

Craig Price (38) and Shoaib Akhtar with a well played unbeaten 42, steered Dawdon to a nine wickets success over local rivals Seaham Park.

When the visitors batted first they totalled 91 for seven which included 25 by Stephen Sutherland and for Dawdon Neil White was the best performer with the ball, ending with figures of two for 34.

Peterlee went down by 21 runs when they hosted Castle Eden whose 95 for five included an impressive unbeaten 59 by Richard Ede.

Simon Williams claimed two of the six wickets to fall for 16 and when they replied Peterlee were all out for 74 of which Christopher Ford top scored with 28.

Wayne Glaister captured three wickets for five runs, Kelly took two for eight and Walker two for 15 for Castle Eden.

Silksworth easily defeated Murton by 61 runs. Michael Waterson top scored with 62 and Chris Ledger added 24 to the Silksworth total of 114 for two. Jonathan Seed captured two for 20.

When Murton responded, Seed top scored with 23 but they were all out for 53 as Chris Pringle took two for eight and Michael Waterson two for four.

Friarside Cup

AHughes turned in another outstanding performance when Whickham defeated Eppleton. The youngster, who has appeared in Whickham's first team, hit a top scoring 62 and then took four wickets for 45.

Batting first, Whickham finished with 123 for five before restricting the Durham Senior League Juniors to 105 for seven.

Whitburn also progressed when they overtook Sacriston's 100 for eight with seven wickets in tact.

Chris Taylor top scored with 46 in the Sacriston total of 100 for eight and three of the wickets fell to Ali for just eight runs.

In response, Whitburn won mainly due to the efforts of Brown, who carried his bat for 42
