Boddingtons Durham Coast League U-15

Two players scored half centuries when Hylton met Peterlee. Liam Foster scored 56 of Hylton's 120 for six but 61 by Maddison led Peterlee to a nine- wickets victory.

Darren Liddle was the leading run- maker in Silksworth's total of 85, contributing 20 and for Murton Hodgson had two for eight. Responding, Murton won by four wickets when David Scorer scored 27 and for Silksworth, Paul Howe claimed two for 23.

Ben Mclean led Easington to a five wickets success at home to Ryhope, scoring 52 out of his team's 83 for five. Hutchinson had the excellent figures of three for three for Ryhope who batting first, totalled 82 for the loss of five wickets.

Gavin Snowball was in good form for Houghton in his team's 14 runs victory at home to Bill Quay. Snowball scored 48 and Houghton ended on 113 before restricting Bill Quay to 99 of which Phillips contributed 54.

Ryan Consitt carried his bat for 45 and Mattie Young added to Dawdon's 83 for one but the total proved insufficient as Seaham Park won, losing four wickets when Shaun Sutherland scored 35 and Harminder Singh added 20 while for Dawdon, Consitt had figures of two for ten.

Karl Bellerby scored 42 of Boldon CA's 109 for three, but Marsden won by six wickets when Mills scored 51 out of 110 for four.

Subaru Cup

TYNEMOUTH will represent the North-East in the national finals which take place at Oakham School, starting on August 8. They defeated South Shields and Keswick in the semi-final and regional final which were both played at Norton's ground.

In their semi-final tie with South Shields, Tynemouth overtook the target of 105 with four wickets in tact when Coughtree and Paul Marshall both scored 25.

Symonds claimed three wickets for 25 in the South Shields attack and batting first Shields ended on 105 for seven of which Craig made 26 not out.

Tynemouth met Keswick in the regional final and won by ten runs. Batting first Tynemouth finished with 91 for six of which Stephen Harrison scored 25 not out and for Keswick Frampton took three for 15.

Durham Senior League U-17

Philip Taylor hit an unbeaten 90 and Nathan Gray contributed 40 to Gateshead Fell's match-winning 139 for one

against Horden who responded with 100 for six including 53 not out by Ian Blevins. Philip Hudson was in good form for Gateshead Fel,l claiming five of the six Horden wickets for 30 runs.

Chester-le-Street defeated Philadelphia by seven runs. Ryan Birbeck top scored with 20 in the Cestrians total of 80 for six and for Phili Willie Orchin returned two for eight. Despite a contribution of 22 by John Grant and 32 from Mark Moore, Philadelphia ended on 73 for four.

Lee Cowan, 47 not out and Gary Adey (23), led Hetton Lyons to a four-wickets victory against Whitburn who, batting first, totalled 117 for six.

Chris Connan top performed with 56 and Rizwan Khan added 23 to the Felling total of 114 for six in the match with Sunderland who responded with 99 for six. Gregson and Ferguson both took two wickets for Sunderland whose top performance with the bat came from McKerrit with 26 runs while Felling's Lee Woodhouse captured two for 16.

Potter, with an undefeated 45, enabled Boldon to make 122 for two before Burnmoor responded with 79 for eight including 37 by Johnson.

Durham City reached 121 for four as Brian Potts scored 46 and Jim Allenby 36. Eppleton, for whom David Henderson claimed four for 33 and scored 27, finished on 73 for eight as Duncan and Parnaby both grabbed a couple of wickets in the City attack.

Foster's Northumberland and Tyneside Junior League

Michael Dixon paved the way for Consett's nine wicketsvctory at

home to Chopwell when he claimed

four for ten runs. Ian Stewart returned two for one and Chopwell were all out for 41, a target which Consett met when Kevin Hopps remained unbeaten on 25.

First team regular Duncan Batty scored 62 of the Lintz total of 123 for five with four of the wickets falling to Andrew May for 22 runs. Whickham, however, met their target without losing a wicket as Chris Davidson carried his bat for 63 and Andrew Hughes ended unbeaten on 52.

Chris Taylor hit 68 not out to lead Sacriston to 113 for four against Blaydon for whom Bailey took two for 29. In reply, Blaydon finished with 105 for six of which Andrew Lee scored 33 and for Sacriston's Martin Hubber had two for 12.

Michael Cairns (47), Matty Turnbull (22) and James Colledge (27) were all among the runs when Greenside realised 137 for four in their match with Annfield Plain for whom Brewis had three for 31. In response, Annfield Plain realised 106 for four including 47 by Bell and 28 not out by Brewis. Turnbull completed a good night for Greenside, picking up two for 29.

Cameron Shield

Ben Travis captured four for two when Lanchester bowled Ryton for 36. Barrass and Cockburn claimed a couple of wickets apiece before Lanchester went on to win without losing a wicket, Gary Halliday carrying his bat for 21 in his side's total of 38 for none.

Whickham also won by ten wickets at home to Tantobie and the match was a personal triumph for Adam Cree. He captured four for eight as Tantobie were all out for 56 and then scored an unbeaten 32 in Whickham's total of 57 without loss.

David Dolan gave the Lintz innings a good start by making 38 but it was Stephen Smith who stole the show when he finished undefeated with a blistering 97. Lintz ended on 148 for one but Crookhall made a good fight of it and were 142 for five at the close. Richardson (40), Stuart (43) and Johnson (30) top scored for Crookhall.

Consett defeated Greenside by nine wickets when Ian Steart scored 35 not out in a total of 52 for one.

Batting first, Greenside made just 41 for nine as Whiteman took three for four, McCance two for 12, Cox two for 12 and Stewart two for ten.

After restricting Chopwell to 89, Shotley Bridge went on to win by five wickets when Craig Lloyd hit 36 and Andrew Raine 35.

3-D Durham County

League U-18

Paul Curry, who stroked seven fours in 44 not out and Peter Johnson, with six boundaries in an undefeated 31, led Brandon to an emphatic ten wickets victory at home to Newton Aycliffe for whom Bloomer ended with 33 not out in a total of 77 for four.

Etherley also won by ten wickets when they hosted Crook Town who were dismissed for 54 when David Elstob claimed three for six runs in four overs, Carl McGregor returned two for 14 and Richard Balmer two for eight. Responding, Etherley were indebted to McGregor whose undefeated 31 included four fours and two Balmer who stroked three fours in 22 not out.

Bishop Auckland won in the last over on their visit to Sedgefield. Graham Hughes gave Sedgefield's innings a good send off with 29 and Mark Jemmeson had one six and four fours in 44 out of a total of 84 for six while Bishops' Michael Hill collected three for 29 in five overs.

When Bishops went into bat they won for the loss of three wickets.

Chris Hardwick and Keith Gillingham both scored 34 in Mainsforth total of 113 for seven of which Andrew Howell claimed four wickets for 26 runs before Coxhoe were restricted to 99 for eight.

Tudhoe won by 21 runs when Tim Smalley hit two sixes and two fours in 35 and Chris Glasper had four boundaries and one six in 25 not out. Visitors Willington managed 104 for six, thanks to Green with 36 and Moore who made 31 while Tudhoe's Harry Collingwood returned three for 37 in five overs and Tim Smalley had two for 15, also in a five over spell.

Eddie Watson cracked four sixes and seven fours in 81 and John Carmedy added 38 to the Esh Winning total of 158 for two against Ushaw Moor who were pegged to 126 for four which included a half century by Gary Whitfield.

Shildon overtook Darlington RA's 112 for six with four wickets in hand. Andrew Russell (32no) and Gareth Percival (20) top performed for the RA and when Shildon batted Paul Freary took two for six in four overs for RA.

With the season drawing to a close there have been two programmes in recent days and Sedgegfield reached 157 for the loss of two wickets at Newton Aycliffe when Mark Jemmeson recorded 12 boundaries in an unbeaten innings of 100. Tim Dix added 45 not out as Sedgefield won by 91 runs.

Billy Teesdale's 41 was important to Evenwood's match-winning 109 for four at Shildon, who batting first, posted 108 for five including 46 by Shaun Brown.

Christopher Guy carried his bat for 30 in Crook Town's 68 for three but Esh Winning went on to win by eight wickets when John Carmedy ended unbeaten on 45.

George Peacock

Memorial Trophy

Gateshead Fell lifted the George Peacock Memorial Trophy, which is competed for by the U-17 sides in the Durham Senior League, when they defeated Boldon by six wickets at South Shields.

Batting first, Boldon made 84 for nine after opener Alan Lamb scored 44 before being bowled by Philip Taylor. Alan Lamb's twin Chris made the next highest score which was only 12 and Boldon's total included 18 extras.

The four-man Gateshead Fell attack was generally in command and none did better than Philip Hudson, who in five overs produced figures of three for ten. Philip Taylor returned two for 14, Graeme Onions two for 34 and Nathan Gray one for 19.

When Gateshead Fell replied they quickly overcame the loss of opener Philip Taylor along with Nathan Gray. Graeme Onions, who also opened the innings, found a capable partner in Graeme Arkle and they put their side within sight of victory before Onions was bowled by Philip Bell for 43. Arkle finished unbeaten on 24.
